We welcome children to both the Bed and Breakfast and Dairy Cottage. We provide a travel cot and high chair free of charge.
Smoking is not permitted in either the B&B or in Dairy Cottage but it is permitted in the grounds. Please pick up after yourself.
B&&B - sorry we cannot accept pets, in the main guest accommodation of the hall, but can offer outside sheltered facilities.
Dairy Cottage - pets are welcome but must be exercised in the woods next to the cottage. There is a charge per week.
The shared indoor heated swimming pool and gym are open every day of the year between 10.00am and 4.00pm. The facilities are at Graythwaite Farm, just two minutes in the car or half a mile walk. Use of the pool is FREE and the gym is £25 per person per week. Please supply your own towels.
Linen and Towels
B&B - all bed linen and towels are provided. However, please bring your own towels to use at the swimming pool/fitness suite. Pillows are anti-allergenic.
Dairy Cottage - all bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided within the price of the rental. However, please bring your own towels to use at the swimming pool/fitness suite.
B&B - ample parking available for several cars.
Dairy Cottage - garage available for one car plus parking for two cars.
B&B - your accommodation will be available to you from 2.00pm on your day of arrival unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you are to arrive after 6.00pm. Should you wish to arrive earlier, to park or drop off luggage, please let us know in advance.
Dairy Cottage - your accommodation will be available to you from 3.00pm on your day of arrival unless otherwise arranged. Should you wish to arrive earlier, to park or drop off luggage, please let us know in advance.
B&B and Dairy Cottage - please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on your day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Should you wish to leave luggage, or park after your departure time, please let us know.
B&B - we want you to feel at home and use all the facilities on offer, so we make arrangements with you to ensure you have access to the main house at all times during your stay.
Dairy Cottage - we are here to hand over keys to you on your arrival.
B&B - please call or e-mail your request about room availability.
Dairy Cottage - online availability is provided for the cottage. Please note that online availability is regularly updated daily.
B&B - breakfast is served between 8.30am and 9.30am but we are happy to accept requests for early breakfast. We serve only free range or naturally reared produce. We support local producers whenever possible. All our tea and coffee is Fairtrade. Vegetarians and guests with special dietary needs can be accommodated.
Packed lunches are available for £7.50 each in either a wicker basket or rucksack and include sandwich, cake/biscuit, fruit, crisps and drink. Please order the night before. We are also happy to fill your flasks for free.
B&B - dinner is available by prior arrangement. Two course dinner is £20.00 per person or three course dinner is £25.00 per person.
We have a wonderful selection of wines for sale, which have been handpicked for their quality and delicious taste.
A Night Out
We can arrange to drop you off for a night out at a local pub or restaurant and pick you up again for less than the cost of a taxi.
Arrival by Train
Low Graythwaite Hall is close to both Windermere and Ulverston railway stations, and Oxenholme is on the main west coast line. We can arrange to meet visitors from the train if required.
Dairy Cottage - all electricity is included in the rental. Complimentary coal/logs for the open fire are provided on arrival, £5 per bag thereafter.
Dairy Cottage - the changeover day for weekly bookings is Friday.
Dairy Cottage - short breaks are available at certain times of the year subject to availability.
