The Grounds

Low Graythwaite Hall is located at the base of Grizedale Forest just five miles from Hawkshead on the stunning Graythwaite Estate. Quiet and peaceful and surrounded by acres of fields and woodlands yet central for touring and enjoying all that the Lake District has to offer.

From the moment you drive through the big oak gates, up the long driveway you know you have arrived somewhere very unique and special. Depending on the time of year you will be greeted by the beautiful sight of daffodils, bluebells or flowering rhododendrons.

Enjoy nature at its best - watch the herd of deer at dawn or dusk gently graze or listen to owls in the grounds. Sit by the pond, which is fed from the tarn above and read a book or enjoy a drink on the lawns and soak up the sunshine in quiet surroundings.

Magnificent topiary trees edge the huge lawned areas and there is a stream with a bridge, which leads to two acres of fenced woodland - perfect for exploring!
